A UN World Food Program office will be opened in Ukraine. The corresponding decision was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. This was stated on Tuesday, July 2, in government order No. 604-r dated June 28.
“To approve the draft Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the World Food Program (WFP) on the continuation of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the World Food Program on the opening of the CPN Office in Ukraine,” said the Cabinet Website of ministers
The agreement was authorized to be signed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Italy, Yaroslav Melnyk.
WFP is a UN humanitarian organization that provides food aid in the form of cash transfers, vouchers (certificates) and/or food products around the world. In Ukraine, the organization is implementing several cash programs for Ukrainians affected by the Russian invasion.
