Bloomberg wrote about this on July 2.
We are talking about the carrier of the Kalibr missiles. The submarines were first spotted near Great Britain and Ireland about 18 months ago, the second time – recently in Scotland. One of them then went to Cuba.
The publication’s sources believe that Russia may be looking for weak spots in Britain’s defense in this way in order to intimidate the country in response to its support for Ukraine.
Two sources told the publication that US officials were aware of the submarine’s movements. The UK Ministry of Defence said it “does not comment on transactions”. A senior Biden administration official said the US was monitoring the Russian navy’s activities. White House spokespeople declined to comment on the latest reports, and the Russian Defence Ministry did not respond to a request for comment.
