1. Minions (2015)
The films starring the Minions are a prequel to the events of the ‘Despicable Me’ franchise. In this way, ‘Minions’ is a story prior to the original work and follows the little yellow ones, years before meeting Gru, in depression after losing their former master and having no one left to serve. Everything changes when three of them, Kevin, Stuart and Bob, go to a villain convention and meet Scarlet Overkill, a villain who wants to be the first woman to dominate the world.
2. Minions 2: The Rise of Gru (2022)
In the second film, the Minions are already under the orders of Gru who, in this plot, is still a child, since the story is set in the 1970s.
The animation is available to Prime Video subscribers with the following synopsis: “In the 1970s, long before he became the mastermind of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy, living in a suburb and planning to dominate the world from his basement. When the infamous group of supervillains, the Vicious 6, expels their leader, Gru tries to join the group, suddenly becoming the mortal enemy of the greatest evil gang.”
3. Despicable Me (2010)
In ‘Despicable Me’, supervillain Gru hatches a plan to steal the Moon and, to do so, he will rely on the Minions and an arsenal of weapons, war machines and technological devices to achieve what he wants. Even so, his biggest challenge will not be the enemies he will encounter along the way, but rather what to do with three adorable orphans who want to have him as a father.
4. Despicable Me 2 (2013)
Gru decides to retire from his role as a supervillain to take care of Agnes, Edith and Margo. However, his quiet days are far from over, as he is summoned by the Anti-Villain League, and in the company of agent Lucy, he must find an old criminal who threatens to take over the world with the help of a stolen formula that can transform anyone into large purple monsters: PX41!
5. Despicable Me 3 (2017)
Once again, an old villain returns to take away the peace of Gru and his daughters. This time, it’s Balthazar Bratt, an actor who was successful on television as the villain Evil Bratt, but who, seeing his career in ruins, decides to take revenge on everyone who in some way harmed him, including Gru.
In addition to dealing with Bratt’s fighting skills and master of disguise, as well as his incredible ability to invent things to make his cruelty possible, Gru will have to face the emotions that arise with an unexpected discovery: the existence of his long-lost twin brother, Dru.
6. Despicable Me 4 (2024)
In the fourth film of the franchise, Gru will have to adapt to the new family dynamics after the birth of Gru Jr., his biological son, the result of his relationship with Lucy. But, while trying to educate the little boy, he will also have to face his former criminal mentor: Maxime Le Mal, who after escaping from prison, is willing to take revenge on his pupil.
