Cases of detention of men with dual citizenship when leaving Ukraine have become more frequent, the embassy notes.
The Israeli Embassy recommends that men with dual citizenship (Israel and Ukraine) refrain from traveling to Ukraine. Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky published messages on his Telegram on Monday, July 1.
“We recommend that all Israelis with Ukrainian citizenship reconsider the propriety of visiting Ukraine during the war,” the message said.
The embassy recalled that with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, on February 24, 2022, a decree of the President of Ukraine was published prohibiting men aged 18 to 60 from leaving the country.
Diplomats also noted that cases of detention of men with dual citizenship when leaving Ukraine have become more frequent.
Let’s recall that on June 4, the US Embassy in Ukraine announced that Ukraine has removed the “residence abroad” exception to leaving the country for people with dual citizenship.
