In the short term, Ukraine plans to continue repairing artillery systems, Ukroboronprom noted.
German combat vehicles are already being returned to the territory of Ukraine as part of an agreement with the Rheinmetall concern. The General Director of Ukroboronprom German Smetanin said this in an interview for ArmyInform, published the previous day.
“So far, of all our foreign partners, it is from Rheinmetall that we are the most advanced a rather difficult path, but the first German battle Cars have already been returned to the territory of Ukraine,” he said.
According to Smetanin, there are plans to further develop and deepen cooperation with Rheinmetall. In the short term, Ukraine intends to continue to repair artillery systems.
He also recalled that Rheinmetall was planning a big project – the joint production of the latest Lynx infantry fighting vehicles, which had great potential.
“Foreigners have their own modern technologies, which are significantly different from those we are familiar with, however, Ukrainian professionals have gained extensive experience in repairing armored vehicles after damage in battles, which development has not been a problem since the Second World War,” he assured.
Earlier in June, the first workshop of Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom was opened in Ukraine. In the future, this site will allow the production of new equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
