If Western countries do not stop the Kremlin dictator, there is a risk that Russia could win the war in Ukraine, a Polish diplomat believes.
Russia can be defeated in a military confrontation, and the West is capable of doing so. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on Saturday, June 29, in a lecture at the British Ditchley Foundation, according to his Twitter page (X).
“Contrary to his crazy propaganda, Russia is invincible. It has lost some of its wars. The Kremlin can be stopped and even defeated – we just forget about it, Ronald Reagan said that his strategy for the Soviet Union is simple, if not simplistic: “We win, and they lose. “I like this approach,” Sikorsky said.
The minister emphasized: in order to gain an advantage in Russia, it is necessary to re-learn how to win the game of escalation. One possible step, for example, is the confiscation of all 300 billion euros of Russian sovereign assets.
“Putin has already written them, he does not expect to return them, but he also thinks that we will not have the courage to take them now, we show that he is right,” stressed Sikorsky.
According to the diplomat, Putin regrets the collapse of the USSR. Therefore, the war he started in Ukraine is a “rematch” and a challenge to European values, security and the Western way of life.
“We must prevent the conflict from spreading, but we must also win. And as part of an international alliance of democracies, we can do it,” he said.
Radoslaw Sikorski warned that if it wins the war against Ukraine, Russia will strengthen a “global coalition of dictatorships,” which will lead to instability not only in Europe but around the world.
Let’s recall that on June 14, Putin said that he seemed ready for “peaceful negotiations” with Ukraine. But to do this, the Ukrainians must withdraw their troops from four regions, which in Russia are called new regions. Ukraine should also abandon the prospect of NATO membership.
In turn, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky compared Putin’s proposal to Hitler’s Nazism.
