Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba met with US Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien and discussed activities for the supply of the Patriot air defense system. On Saturday, June 29, the head of the Foreign Ministry wrote this to X.
“We appreciate the recent critical decisions by the US to support Ukrainian strikes against Russian military targets, to give Ukraine priority in air defense munitions, and to cooperate with third countries to strengthen defense capabilities of Ukraine,” he wrote.
It is indicated that the minister discussed with the US Assistant Secretary of State the supply of additional Patriot air defense systems, as well as joint efforts to provide Ukraine with additional weapons and ammunition.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the United States could supply Ukraine with up to eight batteries for the Patriot air defense system, which is located in Israel.
