The IMF Board of Directors completed the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine. This allowed the above-mentioned amount to be allocated to Ukraine. The money will be used for budget support. This was reported by the Fund’s press service.
Despite difficult conditions, Ukraine’s performance under the EFF program remains strong. All quantitative performance criteria at the end of March were achieved, and all structural targets at the end of June were met on time or with a slight delay, the statement said.
The IMF also emphasized that the Ukrainian economy continues to remain resilient.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported on Telegram that money from the IMF “helps our government finance critical budget expenditures, social benefits, and salaries for doctors and teachers.”
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that Ukraine had not previously undergone four revisions in any program with the International Monetary Fund. Szmigal emphasized that this demonstrates how the partners highly appreciate the changes and the work of Kyiv.
