At Biden’s request, the televised debates will be held without spectators or reporters for the first time. Trump’s request was not to use the recordings.
In the United States on the evening of Thursday, June 27, televised debates began between the future candidates for the presidency of the United States – the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, and his predecessor, Donald Trump . They are broadcast by CNN.
For the first time, televised debates take place before national party congresses, that is, before the official nomination of candidates.
At Trump’s request, the opponents did not have any notes with them, but only blank papers and pens. According to Biden’s agreement, the debate will take place without an audience – only two presenters will be present in the television studio. The microphones will only be turned on when the politicians are given the floor to prevent them from interrupting each other or interjecting comments.
The candidates are expected to hold another televised debate in October, closer to Election Day.
During the debate, Biden called himself the first US president in a century in which no American soldiers died overseas.
In this regard, Trump said that Vladimir Putin would never have invaded Ukraine if the United States had a president who was respected in the world. Trump also called Putin’s proposal regarding Ukraine unacceptable for the United States.
We remind you that today the chances of both main candidates for US presidents are equally assessed within the limits of statistical error.
