The main focus of the meeting was on preparations for the July Washington NATO summit.
President Vladimir Zelensky met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at NATO headquarters in Brussels. The press service of the head of state reported this on Thursday, June 27.
The Ukrainian leader thanked Stoltenberg for his efforts to attract allies to help Kyiv, in particular, to strengthen the capabilities to protect the skies of Ukraine.
The main focus during the meeting will be on preparations for the Washington NATO summit, which will take place in July.
Zelensky noted the readiness of NATO members to provide Ukraine with critically needed defense assets, primarily air and missile defense systems.
Ukraine is also awaiting a decision to strengthen NATO’s role in coordinating security assistance, Ukrainian military training and long-term financial commitments from allies to ensure stable support for our state.
It was previously reported that NATO will offer Ukraine a new headquarters in Germany to manage its military aid at the 75th anniversary summit in Washington. The agreement will be called a “bridge” to Kyiv’s possible membership in the Alliance.
