A bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and the European Union is to be signed on June 27 in Brussels.
Ukraine and the European Union intend to sign a security agreement. This is expected to happen at the summit on Thursday, June 27. Interfax-Ukraine reported this with reference to an unnamed senior diplomat in Brussels.
According to him, during the signing in Brussels there will be “a special guest whose name we are not allowed to name, but you all wrote about it,” apparently referring to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
“And you also know that tomorrow, after the family photo (of EU leaders – ed.), security commitments will be signed,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, information appeared in the media that the President of Ukraine was going to Brussels.
The EU summit will take place on June 27-28 in Brussels. The text of the security agreement was approved by the EU Council on June 25.
The draft agreement between Ukraine and the European Union contains commitments for defense support, as well as the reconstruction of Ukraine and the creation of a special tribunal for Russia.
Earlier, the EU reported that next week the EU will allocate the first part of 2.5 billion euros from the income from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation to support Ukraine.
