The latest polls predict a landslide victory for the National Rally and their allies, but it is not known if they will win an absolute majority.
Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz is worried about the prospect of victory for the right-wing populist National Rally and their like-minded counterparts in the early parliamentary elections in France, reports of ARD.
Scholz said he was concerned about the upcoming early elections in France.
“And I hope that the victory will be won by the parties, let’s say, not by the political power of Le Pen. But it will be determined by the people of France,” commented the chancellor.
We remind you that the latest polls predict the victory of the National Union and their allies, but it is not known if they will receive an absolute majority.
Dozens of French diplomats issued a joint appeal to citizens not to vote for the far-right parties that polls predict will win the election.
They note that opponents of democratic values will consider the victory of far-right forces in France as a sign of its weakening and an “invitation” to interfere in national politics for their own purposes and a more aggressive European policy as a whole.
