An operational headquarters was created in Dagestan after the shootings in Derbent and Makhachkala, said the head of the republic, Sergei Melikov.
He noted that unknown people have made attempts to destroy the social situation.
Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a military clash was taking place on Magomedgadzhiev Street in Makhachkala.
The public monitoring commission of Dagestan said a priest was killed in a church in Derbent, and the guardian of a church was killed in Makhachkala.
