French President Emmanuel Macron and his liberal Renaissance party face collapse in the National Assembly elections, which will take place on June 30 (first round) and July 7 (second round).
The fact is that the right-wing conservative National Rally party can receive an absolute majority of votes in parliament.
According to a survey conducted by the Odoxa Institute for the magazine Le Nouvel Obs, the National Rally is vying to take between 250 and 300 seats. At the same time, to obtain an absolute majority, 289 mandates are needed.
According to the same poll, Marine Le Pen’s party could get 33% of the vote in the first round of voting, the leftist New Popular Front – 28%, and Macron’s Renaissance only 19%.
Two weeks ago, Macron announced new parliamentary elections after his party won just 14.6% of the vote in the European Parliament elections. The National Rally won an unconditional victory in these elections with 31.3% of the votes.
According to BILD sources in France, Macron really expects the National Rally to win. According to his plan, once in government, Le Pen and her team must take decisive action – and they will fail so much that by the 2027 presidential elections the rating of the National Rally will fall. In this case, Le Pen will not be able to win the presidential election.
