Our country went from applying for EU membership to starting negotiations in just over two years, the minister said.
Ukraine has set a record on the path of its integration with Europe: from an application for membership to the start of negotiations. This process is faster than any other candidate country in history. This was said by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, quoted by the department under his control.
The official welcomed the EU member states’ approval of the negotiating framework on Ukraine’s accession to the bloc. According to him, the country’s journey was not easy and included revolution and war.
“Ukraine also set a record, from applying for EU membership to starting negotiations in just two years – faster than any other candidate country in history,” emphasized of officer.
He added that Ukraine has been diligent in meeting all demands and implementing critical reforms to bring this day closer.
“As a member of the EU, Ukraine will strengthen security and prosperity for all Europeans, and also fulfill our common dream of living in a continent of freedom, prosperity and peace,” the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry concluded .
Let’s recall that on June 14, the ambassadors of the EU member states approved in principle the framework for negotiations on the accession of Ukraine, as well as Moldova. Hungary and Slovakia did not block the decision.
