Harvesting is already taking place in Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson regions.
Agricultural producers in six regions of Ukraine began harvesting early grains and leguminous crops. The press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported this on Friday, June 21.
It is reported that harvesting is already taking place in Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Odessa, Nikolaev and Kherson regions.
A total of 48.3 thousand tons of grain from the new harvest was threshed:
wheat – 1.1 thousand tons with a yield of 22.0 c/ha;
barley – 39.9 thousand tons with a yield of 29.8 c/ha;
peas – 7.3 thousand tons with a yield of 22.0 c/ha.
“The leaders in the regions in terms of yield are the farmers of the Vinnytsia region. They collected 30.5 centners per hectare. At the same time, the agricultural producers of the Odessa region are the leaders in the largest threshing of crop areas – 11.8 thousand hectares ” said the report.
It was earlier reported that farmers are predicting lower yields due to a dry May. After some time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy improved the forecast for the grain harvest. The forecast describes a grain harvest of about 56 million tons. Of these, wheat – 21 million tons.
