Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that all three Nordic countries are now members of NATO, which is “good for the security of Norway, the Nordic countries and the members of the Alliance.”
Norway, Finland and Sweden have agreed to create a cross-border “military transport corridor” to facilitate the movement of military personnel and military equipment between them. This was announced by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The decision to create the corridor was reportedly made by Støre, as well as Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Finnish President Alexander Stubb during a two-day meeting in Bode in northern Norway.
“Today we have agreed to create a military transport corridor through northern Norway, northern Sweden and northern Finland.
Stere added that all three Nordic countries are now members of NATO, which is “good for the security of Norway, the Nordic countries and the members of the Alliance.”
It was also noted that the cross-border logistics route was tested this spring, when US troops delivered equipment to the Norwegian city of Narvik, and then transferred it to neighboring Sweden and, finally, to northern Finland.
Earlier it was reported that Norway will allocate €240 million for air defense for Ukraine.
It has also been reported that Sweden will give the US access to its military facilities.
