A Russian court convicted US serviceman Gordon Black, accused of robbery and threatening to kill.
In Russia, American serviceman Gordon Black was sentenced to three years and nine months in a general regime colony for threatening to kill and stealing from his ex-girlfriend in Vladivostok. The Russian independent Telegram channel Astra reported this on Wednesday, June 19.
As you know, 34-year-old Sergeant Gordon Black was arrested in Vladivostok on May 2 at the request of his girlfriend, 31-year-old Alexandra Vashchyuk. He met her while serving in South Korea. Black arrived in Russia despite the ban of the army authorities.
According to American relatives, the relationship between the young people was abusive. So, Black’s ex-wife told reporters that once during a video call with her daughter, Vashchyuk was caught on camera stabbing an American.
Black was accused of threatening to kill and stealing 10 thousand rubles to pay for the hotel room where he was detained. Before this, the couple had a fight. Black pleaded guilty to robbery, but not to threatening to kill.
In court, Vashyuk said that the damage caused to him has not yet been paid and that he is not ready to settle with the American.
As reported, a US serviceman who came to the Russian Federation from South Korea on personal business was detained in Vladivostok, Russia. Gordon Black was arrested following a complaint from his Russian girlfriend about theft and battery. The Vladivostok court remanded the American until July 2.
Let’s remember that last year in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, Evan Gershkovich, a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, was detained on suspicion of espionage.
