In total, almost 80 countries, from 101 participants, signed a declaration during the Global Peace Summit, spelling out Ukraine’s demands for peace.
Rwanda was missing from the list of communiques from the Peace Summit held in Switzerland on June 15-16. This is on Monday, June 17, according to data on the website of the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
It is known that on June 16 the country appeared on the list.
At the same time, the Ecumenical Patriarchate appeared on the list, which was not there on June 16.
India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brazil, UAE, Armenia, Thailand, Mexico and others refused to sign the communiqué. At the same time, Türkiye, Hungary and Serbia, which are friendly to Russia, support the communiqué.
Let’s remember that the last statement of the Summit mentions the Ukrainian peace formula and begins with the words “War of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.” The document states that the basis for “achieving a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine” is the Charter of the United Nations “including the principles of respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states.”
Several countries continue to study the text of the Peace Summit communiqué on the war in Ukraine and decide on a possible accession to it. This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
Let’s recall that on June 15-16, the historic international Peace Summit, organized by Ukraine, was held in Switzerland. Zelensky said that the Peace Summit could have practical steps towards peace.
According to the President, the next, second Peace Summit will take place in months, not years.
