The head of state said that after the completion of the first Peace Summit, “not years, but months” will pass, after which the next summit is planned. Some countries have already expressed their interest in holding it. Zelensky stated this at the final press conference following the summit in Switzerland.
We don’t have time for long work. We must act quickly. The work should continue for months, not years. When the peace action plan is ready and every step is worked out, the path will open to holding a second peace summit, and therefore to the end of the war and a just and lasting peace,” the president said.
He also added that following the results of the first summit, the countries will work in groups on specific peace issues.
The Swiss peace summit could have practical steps towards peace, the president said.
Let us recall that 101 countries and international organizations from all continents took part in the Swiss Peace Summit. The communiqué was signed by 80 countries and four organizations, but India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa and Thailand did not support the declaration.
The Summit participants called for transferring control over the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant to Ukraine, ensuring access to the ports of the Black and Azov Seas and releasing all prisoners of war and Ukrainian civilians.
