In an ultimatum to Ukraine, Putin told the whole world that everything he said before was “multiplied by zero,” the head of state said.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s statement about territorial claims against Ukraine is a big mistake that benefits Ukraine. This is what President Vladimir Zelensky said following the outcome of the peace summit that ended in Switzerland on Sunday, June 16.
“They (Russians – ed.) do not need peace, that is a fact that we all need peace,” said the head of state, noting that the countries where the majority of the world’s population lives have taken part in Peace Summit.
According to Zelensky, Russia has made many terrible historical mistakes, starting with the annexation of Crimea. Commenting on Putin’s statement before the Peace Summit, the President of Ukraine said that “it is also a mistake to disrupt the peace summit based on such a message.”
“This is a serious mistake. But here a man completely provoked the whole world and scared him, saying that he does not want to end the war, but wants to occupy the territories,” said Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine added that “this is a big mistake, which is beneficial for us.”
“Here, behind the scenes, the countries said that in this message Putin conveyed to the whole world that everything he said before about the real desire to end the war was multiplied by zero other views. Or there was, ” concluded Zelensky.
Let’s remember that on the eve of the peace summit, Putin said that Russia is ready for negotiations with Ukraine and is making a “real peace proposal.” Putin presented demands to Ukraine, especially regarding territorial concessions.
Zelensky said Putin’s proposals to end the war in Ukraine were an ultimatum, and his actions were a revival of Nazism.
