Law enforcement officers found out that the driver, under the cover of his business activities, tried to transport men of military age to a neighboring state by truck. The “service” cost the fugitives from $5,000 to $15,000, and the driver himself was supposed to receive a thousand dollars in compensation for such a transfer.
The police found out that the attacker’s passengers were residents of 12 regions of Ukraine, whom he, on the instructions of the organizer of the scheme, took from Odessa.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers seized as evidence a truck, shipping documents and telephones, with the help of which the men negotiated the illegal border crossing.
Investigators informed the offender of suspicion of committing a crime. He is in custody. For the crime, the defendant faces up to nine years in prison.
Law enforcement officers are identifying other persons involved in the crime, in particular, the organizer of the illegal scheme.
