The Swedish Armed Forces announced this in a press release.
The airspace violation incident occurred on Friday, June 14.
This was the first time since Sweden joined NATO. The Swedish military also published a photo of the intruder.
The crew of the Russian Su-24 was verbally warned by the Swedish air combat command about the violation of airspace.
However, when the Russians ignored the warning and did not deviate from their flight path, Sweden scrambled its JAS-39 Gripen fighters to intercept the intruder.
