The heat will return next week, causing energy consumption to increase. In addition, another nuclear power unit will be taken for repairs.
Next week, the situation in the energy system in Ukraine will become more complicated and blackouts are inevitable. The head of the board of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudrytsky, announced this on Friday, June 14, in an interview with Ukrainskaya Pravda.
According to him, next week the situation in Ukraine will worsen due to the expected increase in energy consumption due to the return of heat, as well as the result of the removal of another nuclear power unit for repair.
Kudrytsky said that this will lead to the fact that during this period the situation in the Ukrainian energy system “will be more complicated” than this week.
“Starting tomorrow, we will deal with power reduction in nuclear power plants, as expected and in the mid-twenties of June, we will have a further step of power reduction in nuclear power plants,” he said.
Kudritsky clarified that it was connected “specifically to the campaign to organize.”
We remind you that Ukrenergo significantly extended the outages on Saturday, because due to cloudiness, solar power plants began to work worse. Another unit at the nuclear power plant is also undergoing renovation.
As you know, power engineers predict that July will be the most difficult period for the Ukrainian energy system. It is at this time that nuclear power plants undergo scheduled maintenance.
