As part of the initial deliveries, Ukraine received more than 155 mm howitzer shells, but it also has many 152 mm guns.
The Netherlands announced the supply of 152-mm shells to Ukraine worth more than 350 million euros, which will be allocated from the International Fund for Support of Ukraine. The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced this on Thursday, June 13.
They emphasized that the exact number of 152-mm shells and delivery time will not be reported for security reasons.
“But this is one of IFU’s largest orders from the international arms industry,” it added.
The Dutch Ministry of Defense points out that in previous deliveries, Ukraine has received more 155mm howitzer shells, but it also has many 152mm guns.
Note that the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU) is a financial initiative created to provide military support to Ukraine in response to Russian aggression. Established in 2022 by the UK and Denmark, the fund has drawn contributions from several countries, including Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland and Lithuania. Australia recently joined with additional funding.
The Fund ensures the efficient allocation of resources to meet Ukraine’s most pressing defense needs, allowing for long-term military support while maintaining the readiness of the donor countries’ own militaries.
The latest innovations from the Finnish defense industry were exported to Ukraine, and not just weapons from army warehouses.
