Both countries recalled diplomats after a sharp statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Armenia recalls its ambassador from Belarus. Minsk took a similar step and recalled its ambassador from Yerevan. It was found out on Thursday, June 13.
“Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Belarus (Razmik Khumaryan, – ed.) was summoned to Yerevan for consultations,” Armenian Foreign Ministry representative Ani Badalyan said on Telegram.
In this regard, Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatoly Glaz told reporters that Belarus is also summoning its ambassador to Armenia for consultations.
“We all see how difficult the internal political situation in Armenia is today, how quickly the confrontation within the country and different people, of course, have different resistance to serious emotional stress. no I don’t understand – what does Belarus have to do with this “- said Glaz and added that a representative of the Armenian Embassy in the Foreign Ministry was called “to try to clarify this issue.”
Glaz emphasized that “if anyone in Armenia decides to divert attention from internal problems to the image of an external enemy, then this is a very small position.” He assured that Belarus does not intend to worsen relations with Armenia.
We remind you that today the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said that he will not leave for Belarus while Alexander Lukashenko is leading it. The same shall apply to other Armenian officials.
Earlier, in May, Pashinyan said that two CSTO countries helped prepare for war against Armenia. At the same time, he quickly reacted to the words Lukashenko said during the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on May 16.
