The Italian government is committed to supporting the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
Italy is ready to host and organize the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in 2025. This was reported on Wednesday, June 12, by the website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with reference to Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
“The Italian government is firmly committed to supporting the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine. in 2025,” said Antonio Tayati at the annual Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine, which this time took place in Berlin.
At the same time, he noted that Italian aid, excluding military aid and pan-European contributions, now amounts to more than two billion euros.
The Foreign Ministry added that they are already working on organizing such a conference.
“The Recovery Conference in 2025 will be attended by heads of state and government from 77 countries: a total of about 1,800 participants are expected 500 companies will be invited, of which 150 from Germany, 150 from Ukraine and 200 from other participating countries,” added the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Italy is ready to transfer a new package of military aid to the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense. In addition, Rome also agreed to a new package of 140 million euros for activities to develop Ukrainian infrastructure.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella told the UN General Assembly that peace in Ukraine is only possible when the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are restored.
