Ukraine expects positive decisions on the transfer of two or three Patriot air defense systems in the near future. Kyiv is working with partners from the US and some other European countries to transfer these systems. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on June 11 during a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
I don’t want to say yet with whom exactly from Europe, because we are waiting for confirmation of those decisions. We expect positive results in the near future regarding two or three systems,” the head of state noted.
In Germany, Zelensky inspected the Patriot battery, which will be transferred to Ukraine, and met with Ukrainian soldiers who are training on it.
Let us recall that Kyiv has recently strengthened its calls to its allies to transfer Patriot air defense systems, since they are capable of shooting down Russian ballistic missiles.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on June 11 that Germany would transfer the third Patriot air defense system to Ukraine in the coming months.
