We adopted a resolution, the result of which is the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration on the creation of a zone on the border with Belarus. We are talking about several tens of kilometers, a depth of 200 meters. There are places in the reserves where this zone will go for about two kilometers, but these are short sections, the Prime Minister is quoted by Polish Radio.
Tusk stressed that such measures are necessary to make it more difficult for illegal migrants to cross the border.
In recent times alone, there have been 50 attacks on Polish soldiers; one of the border guards, Mateusz Sitek, died from a knife wound received in a fight with migrants at the border.
We cannot allow people to raise their hands not only against our soldiers and officers, but above all against the Republic of Poland. This is foreign violence against Poland,” added President Andrzej Duda.
The Polish media reported about such results of the meetings of the Security Council and the government. The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of Sitek.
