President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Germany to participate in the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine and negotiations with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The head of state announced this on the evening of Tuesday, June 11.
“URC2024 will unite governments, ten of which are at the level of prime ministers, companies and organizations to help Ukraine In the context of Russian air terror, the urgent solutions for Ukraine’s energy are the our top priority,” Zelensky wrote.
He noted that in the negotiations with Olaf Scholz the discussion will focus on additional defense support, the development of the Ukrainian air defense system, and joint production of weapons. In addition, positions will be coordinated on the eve of the peace summit, the European Council summit and the NATO summit.
Zelensky is also scheduled to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Bundestag President Berbel Bass. In addition, the head of state will visit a military base where Ukrainian military personnel are trained.
Let’s recall that last week Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron, at a meeting in Paris, signed aid agreements for the restoration of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
Also in Paris, Zelensky held a meeting with American leader Joe Biden, where they discussed speeding up supplies as part of new military aid packages from the United States.
