An Austrian Airlines Airbus A320 flies from one of the Spanish islands of Mallorca to Vienna.
The Austrian Airlines Airbus A320 landed safely in Vienna with a windshield shattered by hail and a damaged nose. This was reported by the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.
“Ice damaged the cockpit windows and the nose of the plane. The pilots managed to make a successful landing and there were no injuries,” the portal noted.
The footage released by the publication shows that the front windows of the Airbus A320 cockpit are completely covered with cracks. In addition, the nose of the plane was badly damaged – a significant part of the skin was missing.
The passengers felt a strong tremor. When the plane landed, they were surprised by its appearance.

The airline confirmed that the Airbus A320 was damaged by ice.
“The plane encountered a storm on the approach to Vienna, which, according to the crew, was not detected on the weather radar. As a result of the hail, the two front windows of the aircraft cabin, the nose of the aircraft and several panels were damaged,” Austrian Airlines said in a statement.
Five people, including children, have died due to strong winds in southern Poland.
It was previously reported that tornadoes struck the United States over the weekend, damaging many communities and claiming at least 15 lives. However, this number eventually increased.
