Russian propagandists announced the attack of three drones on the airport in Akhtubinsk. Determines if the Su-57 can be returned.
The newest Russian fighter Su-57 has lost its combat capability after an attack on the airfield in Akhtubinsk. This was reported by the humanitarian project Gulagu.net, citing sources on Sunday, June 9.
“The sources confirmed the damage to the SU-57 at the military airport in Akhtubinsk. The aircraft is now unable to carry out combat missions and participate in attacks against Ukraine,” the message said.
The project also published photos of the Su-57, but did not specify when and where they were taken.
Russian propaganda Telegram channels write about three drone attacks on an airport. Determines if the Su-57 can be returned.
“For the price of this Su-57 alone, shelter from UAVs can be built for all operational-tactical aircraft of the country,” complained one of the propagandists.
Earlier on Sunday, the Main Intelligence Directorate announced the first defeat of a Su-57 aircraft in Russia. Intelligence did not specify where exactly the airport in Akhtubinsk was attacked.
The Su-57 is Russia’s most modern fighter. The Russians say it is a “fifth generation” aircraft. According to data from open sources, there are no more than 10 such aircraft in Russia. The Russian Aerospace Forces received the first production fighter of this type on December 25, 2020. Russia has spent up to $10 billion developing the Su-57. A production Su-57 aircraft costs more than $60 million in 2020 prices.
