The Ukrainian Armed Forces received the first such radar back in 2023 and it has already proven its effectiveness. At the same time, the cost of the new purchase, which the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ordered from the French company Thales, is not disclosed. This was reported by Le Monde.
ControlMaster 200 can simultaneously detect and track low and high altitude targets in all types of environments, ensuring the coordination of air defense systems. The radar coordinates from very short range air defense systems to extended short range air defense (E-Shorad).
According to the manufacturer, the system includes a Ground Master 200 air surveillance radar, a radio communications system, a ControlView control center and a portable weapons distribution terminal.
Let us recall that in early June the media reported that Italy plans to transfer the second SAMP/T air defense system to Ukraine. We are talking about a system that is currently deployed in Kuwait, but will soon return to Italy.
