Ukraine and the European Union on Saturday, June 8, held the next round of negotiations on a bilateral security agreement, the Office of the President reported.

It was noted that the Ukrainian and European delegations discussed the text of the draft agreement and approved an algorithm for further actions in the near future.

The Ukrainian side was represented by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President Igor Zhovkva, and the Secretary General of the European External Action Service for Peace, Security and Defense Charles Frize was present on the EU side.

The OPU added that these negotiations are the next step towards the implementation of the G7 joint declaration on support for Ukraine and preparation for the conclusion of a security agreement between Ukraine and the European political-economic bloc.

Let’s recall that the Council of the EU called support for Ukraine the first priority of the European Union in the field of security and defense.
