In Ukraine, after scheduled repairs, a unit of one of the nuclear power plants was put into operation. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Saturday, June 8.
“At one of the nuclear power plants, after planned repairs, completed 10 days ahead of schedule, the power unit was put into operation, it will add 1000 MW of power to the energy system,” said of the message.
The department hopes that this will somewhat reduce the power shortage in Ukraine that has arisen due to the Russian attack. And this is the third nuclear unit where planned work has been completed in preparation for the upcoming heating season.
The Ministry of Energy expects a deficit to appear in the energy system at night.
“Electricity supply restrictions are planned for the period from 16:00 to 24:00 During the day until 16:00, no restrictions on consumers are not provided for critical infrastructure businesses,” recalled the Ministry of Energy.
Earlier, Ukrenergo announced that an additional unit at the nuclear power plant will start operating on the evening of June 8. This will improve the situation in the power grid in the short term.
