Washington called on Beijing not to help Moscow

He noted that representatives of the PRC had previously participated in the dialogue about Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and that their presence was useful.

“Of course, we have encouraged China to participate in this summit. They have attended previous meetings, and in our opinion, their presence could be useful in this case as well,” said a US foreign policy official. .

At the same time, Miller emphasized that China could take other steps that would bring greater benefits. For example, Chinese companies should stop helping the Russian military-industrial complex.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russia and China are trying to undermine the peace summit. In this regard, China said that it never “fanned the fire or fed the fire” of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Earlier, China confirmed that it will not participate in the Peace Summit, as its requests for the participation of the Russian Federation were not considered.
