According to the inspection results, the traffic light signal of the passenger express train has been moved to the position prohibiting movement.
The cause of the fatal train accident in the Czech Republic, which killed two Ukrainian citizens, was that a RegioJet passenger express ran through a red traffic signal. This was announced by the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Martin Kupka, on the social network X on Thursday, June 6.
It appears to be a technical error or human factor.
“According to the findings of the inspection, a signal was not obtained in a position that prohibits the passage of a high-speed passenger train,” the minister said.
The railway inspectorate is investigating the causes of the accident. Train traffic is still delayed due to the accident.
We remind you that on the evening of June 5 in the Czech Republic, there was a direct collision between the RegioJet 1021 passenger express train with more than 300 passengers traveling with trailer cars to Chop, and a freight train. As a result of the train collision, four people died, including two Ukrainian citizens.
