A pottery goat made by King Charles has sold for £8,500 at Hansons Auctioneers.
A pottery goat made by King Charles when he was a student has sold for £8,500. The BBC reported it.
The ceramic animal was given to Raymond Patten by his great aunt, who worked as a cook at Cambridge University, where the monarch studied from 1967 to 1970.
It is believed to be the only surviving piece of pottery created by Charles and it attracted spirited bidding at Hansons Auctioneers in Staffordshire before being sold to a private American buyer on Tuesday.
The future monarch may have been inspired by the goat mascot of the Royal Welsh Regiment to create a ceramic figurine of a yellow, pink and brown striped goat. Apparently, this is the monarch’s only ceramic product.
It was previously reported that an acoustic guitar belonging to John Lennon from The Beatles was sold at auction in the United States for over $2.85 million.
