On June 5, President Vladimir Zelensky discussed with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak the continuation of defense cooperation and preparations for the Global Peace Summit during a telephone conversation. This was reported by the press service of the President.
“I am convinced that even during the pre-election period, the UK will be represented at the Summit at the highest level,” Zelensky said.
The leaders also discussed strengthening air defense and long-range capabilities.
Zelensky noted the importance of allowing Great Britain to hit military targets on Russian territory, as this would prevent attempts by Russian invaders to expand the war and save people’s lives.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on additional opportunities for joint training missions and the interoperability of the Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces with NATO.
We remind you that the UK is sending a package of military aid to Ukraine worth 150 million pounds sterling (more than 217 million euros) to strengthen air and sea defense.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the country was sending a military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million pounds ($617 million), which included 400 pieces of equipment, 4 million rounds of ammunition , air defense elements and StormShadow missiles.
