The Canadian government believes that the situation in Ukraine is a “serious violation” of international peace and security, which has led to an international crisis. That is why sanctions were introduced against top officials from the time of the fugitive president. The press service of the Canadian government reported this on June 4.
The restrictions included:
former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov;
- former people’s deputy from the Party of Regions Aleksey Azarov;
- ex-Minister of Health Raisa Bogatyreva;
- former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and head of Yanukovych’s administration Andrey Klyuyev;
- ex-prosecutor general Viktor Pshonka;
- former people’s deputy from the Party of Regions Artem Pshonka;
- businessman Sergei Kurchenko;
- former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vitaly Zakharchenko;
- ex-Minister of Education Dmitry Tabachnik;
