Russia is now “experiencing defeat” in Ukraine, despite the continuation of the offensive of Russian troops in the Kharkov region.
The head of the British Armed Forces, Admiral Tony Radakin, is confident of Ukraine’s victory in the war unleashed by Russia and believes that Vladimir Putin does not want a direct conflict with NATO or a nuclear war. He said this on Monday, June 3, in an interview with Sky News.
The admiral drew a parallel between Allied actions against the Nazis during World War II and how Western nations are uniting to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression today.
“It is a war of economies. It is a war of industrial production. It is a war of political will noted.
According to the admiral, Russia is “experiencing defeat” today in Ukraine, despite the continuation of the offensive of Russian troops in the Kharkov region and the advance in some sectors of the front and the seizure of additional territories.
“If you go back to March 2022, Russia occupied about 17% of the territory of Ukraine. Today it occupies 11%.
Radakin also expressed confidence that Moscow is not looking for a wider and direct conflict with NATO countries.
“Putin does not want a war with NATO. Putin does not want a nuclear war. And we have a big advantage thanks to the strength of NATO,” he said, adding that irresponsible statements that humanity is on the brink of a world war should be avoided .
Earlier, Radakin said that Ukraine will experience a shortage of ammunition and, accordingly, will be at a disadvantage on the battlefield for several months until Western countries agree on additional measures to support Kyiv.
