The prosecutor’s office began proceedings through a video in which Russian terrorists brutally treat Ukrainian military personnel in the Kharkov direction. The occupiers beat the defenders and simulated execution by shooting one of the prisoners of war at the head. The Kharkov regional prosecutor’s office reported this on Telegram.
In addition, in the video, the occupiers apply psychological pressure to Ukrainian defenders, forcing them to sing the USSR anthem,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
It is noted that the Russians violated the Geneva Conventions, which require humane treatment of prisoners of war. Law enforcement officers are trying to establish the identities of the victims and military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces.
And the Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets said that he sent official letters to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations with an appeal to document the fact of bullying.
Let us remind you that on May 31, 75 Ukrainians were returned from Russian captivity – privates, sergeants and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, NSU, GNSU and civilians. In particular, 19 soldiers who were captured from Zmeiny Island and 10 defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal returned home.
