The topic of air defense for Ukraine was the main topic at the meeting of President Vladimir Zelensky and Secretary of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin.
Public statements from Ukraine’s allies about new supplies of air defense systems are expected in the near future. The Press Secretary of the President of Ukraine Sergei Nikiforov said this during a telethon on Monday, June 3.
He recalled that President Vladimir Zelensky met with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin over the weekend in Singapore, and the issue of air defense was the main focus.
“Of course, I won’t reveal now what exactly was discussed, the time and the very essence, but I can say that it is the topic of air defense for Ukraine, Kharkov, civilian infrastructure, people and the front here,” said Nikiforov.
He added that now Ukraine is actively cooperating with the United States, and Washington, in turn, with other partners in the supply of air defense.
“And we expect public positive decisions in the near future,” said Nikiforov.
Let’s recall that on June 30, Zelensky said that Ukraine received part of the confirmations from partners to increase air defense capabilities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced positive changes in the supply of air defense to Ukraine.
