Ukrainian unmanned boats hunt Russian delivery vessels. Thus, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reduce the logistics of the Russians in Crimea.
During the 27 months of attacks on the Russian Black Sea Fleet in temporarily occupied Crimea, Ukraine sank or seriously damaged more than ten large warships – a full third of the fleet. Forbes wrote about it.
The Russians ordered the surviving ships to withdraw and move to supposedly safer ports in the south of the Russian Federation. However, the invaders left dozens of smaller minesweepers, landing craft and patrol boats off the coast of Crimea.
“Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces have turned their deadly attention to these smaller targets,” the publication wrote.
The last attack was on the morning of May 30, when the GUR naval strike force sent its Magura V5 unmanned boats into Uzkaya Bay in the west of the peninsula. Russian planes tried to intercept the drones, but at least a few got through and made it to the bay.
As a result of the attack, two KS-701 boats were sunk and two others were damaged. This is one fifth of approximately 20 KC-701s. On the same day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed two Russian ferries, whose main mission was to deliver goods through the Kerch Strait in eastern Crimea.
KS-701 does not have heavy weapons, but they are useful because they are used for logistics support and patrolling the waters near Crimea. KS-701 boats as water vans for the delivery of goods from the south of Russia to the occupied peninsula. They do not carry supplies, but carry them the last few kilometers to their final destination.
“So while Ukrainian cruise missiles and ATACMS are disrupting the main supply lines to Crimea – large landing ships, ferries, bridges and railways – Ukrainian unmanned boats are preying on delivery vessels. So, Ukrainian forces are cutting off Russian logistics in Crimea on both sides ,” Forbes emphasized.
We remind you that today Russia launched two warships in the Black Sea, including a carrier of Caliber cruise missiles.
