The parties discussed the peace summit and the importance of representing Southeast Asian countries here.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The head of state announced this on Telegram on Monday, June 3.
“I am grateful to the Philippines for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, for its clear position on Russia’s aggression against our country, as well as for supporting important UN resolutions,” Zelensky said.
The President also said that Ukraine plans to open an embassy in Manila this year to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the parties discussed the international peace summit and the importance of representing Southeast Asian countries in it.
“We are grateful that the Philippines will participate in the Summit,” Zelensky emphasized.
The presidents discussed other issues of bilateral cooperation, particularly the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the Philippines.
Let’s recall that on June 1, Zelensky arrived in Singapore to participate in the Shangri-La Dialogue conference, a major platform for security topics in the Asia-Pacific region.
On June 2, Zelensky met with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and discussed prospects for deepening bilateral relations.
