The supply of this amount of ammunition to the Ukrainian army will begin in June of this year. These are shells purchased as part of the Czech initiative. This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, European Pravda reports.
Very soon there will be the first physical deliveries to Ukraine, we expect them in June,” he noted.
It is noted that the first appearance of shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in June was previously announced by the Czech Republic’s special representative for the reconstruction of Ukraine, Tomas Kopecny.
Earlier it was reported that Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen said that by the end of this year Ukraine should receive 500 thousand shells as part of the Czech initiative.
However, the Czech ammunition initiative for Ukraine was financially supported by only four countries – Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands and Portugal. Although previously this initiative provided financial commitments from 18 countries, mainly members of the European Union and NATO.
