The Baltic country will provide Ukraine with mobile air surveillance radars within the framework of the air defense coalition.
Lithuania has joined a coalition of countries providing assistance to Ukraine’s air defense. President Gitanas Nauseda announced this on social network X on Thursday, May 30.
“I am happy to announce that Lithuania is joining the air defense coalition led by Germany, France and the United States that we will do our part by providing mobile air surveillance radars to Ukraine,” he wrote.
The President of Lithuania said that military support for Ukraine is important.
“Ukraine needs weapons, not promises.
The Netherlands plans to assemble the Patriot system and transfer it to Ukraine in the short term.
Ukraine also agreed with Spain to help strengthen air defense.
According to President Vladimir Zelensky, Ukraine has only a quarter of the necessary air defense capabilities.
