The new generation Altay tank, produced by BMC Defense, has been updated in accordance with the conditions of modern combat operations.
Türkiye has begun mass production of its own Altay tank, which will eventually become the main battle tank of the country’s armed forces. This was said by the head of the Turkish Defense Industry Secretariat, Haluk Gergün, TRT Haber reports.
It is noted that the new generation Altay tank, produced by BMC Defense, has been updated in accordance with the conditions of modern combat operations. Its combat capabilities have been enhanced through the use of modern technology and innovation, and it has been equipped with additional functions based on the experience gained in operations conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces over the years.
The fire control system of the new Turkish tank includes a laser range finder (LRF) and a more sensitive image stabilization system. The tank is able to detect targets at long distances and accurately hit all targets that can be encountered on the battlefield with a high hit rate.
The level of protection of the tank now meets the requirements of generation 3+. This includes passive modular protection and active damage protection systems.
We remind you that a mutating drone has been developed in Turkey. The development of a variable shape unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) by the Turkish company ASELSAN is currently being evaluated. Its mass production will soon be launched.
It was also reported that a new weapons plant of General Dynamics opened in the city of Mesquite (Texas) in America, which will produce 155 mm artillery shells.
