Russia continues to use guided bombs on the entire front line, the head of the Ministry of Defense said.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky spoke with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. The head of the Ministry of Defense announced this on Twitter on Wednesday, May 29.
According to him, during the negotiations the current situation at the front was discussed. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the situation on the battlefield.
The Minister of Defense informed his American counterpart about the mobilization and continuation of combat brigades. The parties paid special attention to the issue of providing Ukraine with air defense and ammunition.
“Russia continues to use guided bombs along the entire front line. I also emphasized that Ukraine should have the right to attack enemy territory,” Umerov said.
Let’s remember that ten EU countries came out in favor of allowing Ukraine to use their weapons to strike Russian territory.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Alliance countries to allow Ukraine to attack Russian territory with Western weapons. In the United States, the position on strikes using American weapons on Russian territory has not changed: it is “not encouraged.”
