The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is creating a river flotilla on the Dnieper and the first division of the future river flotilla has already been formed in the north of Ukraine. Vice Admiral Alexei Neyezhpapa, Commander of the Naval Forces, spoke about it, ArmyInform reports.
According to him, the formed division is under the jurisdiction of the Kyiv Defense Forces to provide support for the forces in the areas of river operations running near the Dnieper.
“The importance of the military river fleet is proved by the proximity to Belarus, which has a river division in Pinsk and a base in Loev, right on the border. These are the 19 ships of the military river fleet. Therefore, it strengthens the north of Ukraine with the appropriate set of forces on the rivers is an important step, “he said. naval commander.
